Aftercare
Please keep in mind that with nails, they may feel strong & invincible with gel on, unfortunately they aren't and WILL chip or break if your not taking care of them.
To keep your manicure looking great for as long as possible, follow these simple instructions below
Keep in mind your nails are the most fragile over the first 24 hours after your appointment, although its 'set' or 'cured' it takes at least 24 hours to completely cure/set
Cuticle oil can help with a lot of issues, lifting, chipping, de-hydration of the nail & surrounding skin & ridges!
Its why we recommend every client to have a bottle, we sell this for $13.75 for a 50ml, it will last you forever trust me ;) We recommend using this ideally 2-3 times daily.
Cuticle oil keeps the natural nail hydrated & healthy under the product and will make your manicure last longer. It also helps keep the product more flexible and moving with the natural nail, which in turn helps the product last much longer and is less likely to crack
Watch out for makeup, chlorine, hair dye, purple shampoo, sunscreen, insect repellant & certain food items used in cooking such as turmeric, as these can cause staining or even lifting. If you do come into contact with these make sure to thoroughly wash your hands with a scrub brush to get rid of these contaminates
Wearing gloves when cleaning, doing dishes or gardening - cleaning products and chemicals can not only start to break down your gel polish faster but in some cases can also cause staining! also having your hands submerged in hot water for long period can also cause the gel to break down sooner. Water can also cause lifting as the water can get under the gel and it could potently cause some nasty bacteria to start breeding, yuck!!
NO PICKING! Picking at your gel polish can lead to damage, even if you cant feel or see it. This constant damaged can cause premature lifting of the product, making our jobs harder. You will also start to find that no gel polish will last long due to the previous damage to the natural nail the only way to fix this is IBX treatment
Never treat your nails like tools - I.e. opening boxes, cans, picking off labels, this is a big no no as this can likely cause chipping and lifting of your manicure due the pressure on the product
Please DO NOT shorten or file your own nails - this can remove the cap of your gel likely causing lifting or chipping of your gel polish. If they are getting too long to handle please book an appointment to see your nail professional
Return to a nail professional regularly for maintenance or removal.
Leaving your nails on for more than 3 weeks can cause damage as they can start to lift or chip due the the natural UV light slowly curing them overtime, plus the product can start to get heavy at the tip and may cause the nails to break
